WINGS program - Working for Independence, New Growth, and Strength

An unlocked co-ed residential program promoting independence, increased life skills, and improved overall functioning with minimal amount of staff supervision in preparation for community placement. Darby House

Darby House is a unique program that provides a group home type of treatment, yet located within the hospital. There are six patients, men and women, who work on their skills in symptom management, medication self-administration, vocational, cooking, use of leisure time and self-care skills. Patients are discharged into community settings in collaboration with referring agencies.

Darby House

The Darby House is named for Gene Darby, former superintendent of Richmond State Hospital. The Darby House is, in fact, the house that Mr. Darby lived in while he served as Superintendent. It is a fitting tribute that this house continues in the tradition of service established by Mr. Darby.
